With a history of revolutionizing an industry with the invention of FieldTurf synthetic turf system, FieldTurf Tarkett set the stage to improve the industry standard for track surfaces. The company spoke at length with numerous athletes at various levels to get a solid feel for both what they like and dislike about existing running surfaces. The key information gathered was an integral design component of the Le Monde product.
Simply put, existing systems had done little to satisfy the growing need in the track industry. Old style track systems are too hard for everyday use. They provide poor traction, drain slowly and have a history of seams that split and crack. Le Monde incorporates natural and synthetic materials that are vulcanized and molded to provide a uniform surface. The base layer is engineered to provide consistent response while the aggressive texture of the top layer allows for unparalleled traction in any climate. A patent pending seaming system revolutionizes the way tracks have been installed.

One of the big issues facing the track surfacing market today is how to install a surface that you do not have to spray apply. This is an issue for the environment as well as the surrounding structure protection. Since many of Le Monde surfaces will be installed around FieldTurf installations, FieldTurf Tarkett wanted a product that could be put in place without the use of spray equipment. Le Monde eliminates the need to cover new fields during install and also eliminates the overspray floating in the air.
Le Monde can be installed over asphalt or concrete in just about any climate, indoors or out. Because it is a sheet good and is machine manufactured, purchasers can always count on precise specifications for a consistent feel underfoot and correct biomechanical response every time.
