►Landscape Foreman
Turf Masters is currently seeking qualified individuals to staff projects in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Newfoundland. This hands-on role will have you actively participating in projects from start to finish working with all levels of our operational team.
Experience / Requirements:
- Valid drivers’ license
- 3 years experience in landscape construction industry
- Landscape construction equipment experience ex. Skid steer, mini excavator etc.
- Basic understanding of landscape practices
- Experience leading crews of 2-6 individuals
- Academic diploma, horticultural certification considered assets
Responsibilities:
- Work with Project Superintendents and clients to organize all daily site works
- Lead landscape crews on various size projects
- Ensure efficient use and maintenance of onsite equipment
- Directly supervise a crew of 4-6 individuals
- Complete all daily documentation and paperwork
- Safety documentation and compliance
- “Hands-on” involvement with all daily site works

►Equipment Operator
We are currently seeking qualified equipment operators to fill various roles within our company. We have several openings for individuals with experience operating large and small construction and excavation equipment.
These positions are available for different types of equipment at different sites throughout Atlantic Canada. Travel for some sites is required.
Positions Available:
- Small Equipment:
- Backhoe
- Mini Excavator 3 – 10 tonne
- Skid Steer Loaders – track and wheeled
- Farm tractor
- Large Equipment:
- Excavator 15 – 50 tonne
- Dozer D3 – D8
- Front End Loader
Applicants must have a valid drivers’ license and clean abstract.
GPS Machine Controlled experience considered an asset.

►Project Manager
Turf Masters is currently seeking a qualified individual to fill the Project Manager role within our management team. Our ideal candidate is a professional who has worked hard in the industry and has excellent leadership skills. This hands-on role would actively participate in projects from inception to completion to ensure top quality workmanship with a successful and profitable outcome. This position will have you working with various different levels within our corporate structure and will include daily interaction with both senior management and operational staff.
List of Responsibilities:
- Project estimation, budgeting
- Analysis of construction plans and specs
- Project organization
- Organizing project teams
- Project launch
- Client relations
- Job meetings, progress reports and progress claims
- Project close outs and contract compliance
- Strict adherence to established budget
- Periodic “hands-on” field work and training requirements
As well as many other daily product, material and human resources management duties.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Minimum 3 - 5 years experience in Project Management or similar construction management roles
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong reporting and contract development skills
- Experience and understanding of the public procurement process and standard construction contracts
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Extensive knowledge of site works construction process
- Extensive knowledge of site works finishing.
Education:
- Diploma or University degree in engineering and surveying or business management
- Equivalent combination of academic and 7-10yrs practical experience will be considered

- Lead crews performing small and large earth moving and construction projects
- Ensure efficient use of multiple pieces of heavy equipment
- Directly supervise a crew of individuals of 4-16 people
- Complete all daily documentation and paperwork
- Safety documentation and compliance
- Manage site-level human resource issues
- “Hands-on” involvement with all daily site works

►Survey Technologist/Cad Specialist
Turf Masters is currently seeking qualified individuals to fill the Survey Technologist/Cad Specialist role within our team. Our ideal candidate is a highly motivated and skilled specialist who can excel in survey, estimating and technical aspects of our business. This position will have you working with various different levels within our corporate structure and will include daily interaction with administrative and operational staff.
Responsibilities:
- Quality survey and estimating
- Construction site survey and layout
- Digital terrain modeling
- CAD drawing manipulation
- GPS machine control configuration and set up
- Daily interaction with Project Manager and Superintendents
- Survey equipment set up, use and configuration
- As-built drawings, development and progress contract updates
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years practical field work experience
- Academic or co-op program experience will be considered
- CAD design and manipulation experience
- Valid drivers’ license
- Strong computer skills
- Knowledge and experience in construction industry also considered an asset
- GPS and total station survey experience
- GPS machine controlled equipment experience, considered an asset
Education:
- Diploma or degree in survey and geomatics or engineering
- Equivalent combination of academic and practical experience will be considered

►Survey Technician
Using 'state-of-the-art' survey equipment, including newly acquired GPS survey system, you will be working with our on-staff survey technician to help our company manage layout on multiple construction sites. You will have the opportunity to use your technology skills to manipulate digital layout files and creation of TIN models for upload into GPS enabled grading equipment.
►Survey Tech Assistant
Assisting our on-staff survey technician you will be exposed to the latest technologies including GPS survey systems. This position would be ideal for the student looking to gain experience over the summer break.
►Lead Hand
Foreman of a small crew. Experience with landscape construction, earth moving, equipment operation and leadership experience are all considered assets.
