Some of Atlantic Canada's greatest sport construction projects had a secret to their success: Turf Masters Ltd.
Here’s what some of our clients have to say.
Al Scott, Director, Athletics & Recreation Services
Kathie Weadon-Hore, Sr. Manager, Operations for Athletics & Recreation Services
Wickwire Memorial 'FieldTurf' soccer pitch, Dalhousie University
The Department of Athletics and Recreation Services wishes to express our thanks for the excellent work on the recent FieldTurf Tarkett artificial turf installation at Wickwire Memorial Field. From the moment that work begun until the job was completed, you and your team worked to ensure our goals were met; the best workmanship and installation processes and results possible and meeting our time lines and staying on budget. (The Turf Masters Ltd) team were most professional in all your dealing with us and I have to say we have felt you have had our best interests in mind from the beginning. Since (the field) opened on June 2nd, 2007, the turf has seen a lot of action and the feedback on the surface regarding its playability and feel has been very positive. The surface has been draining beautifully with the wet weather we have experienced and teams have 'played on'. You should also know that our varsity soccer coaches and student athletes are quite anxious to begin play on the new surface this fall.

As a designer and project manager for the construction of sports fields, it is a pleasure working with Turf Masters Ltd. They undertake a project with the objectives of the client foremost in their mind. Their commitment to producing as high a quality of product as the client’s budget allows, makes my job easier.
Brian Murphy, St. John’s Senior Soccer Association
King George V 'FieldTurf' soccer pitch
Turf Masters Ltd was involved in every aspect of the field from start to finish. What impressed us was the degree of professionalism, knowledge and craftsmanship demonstrated by the field-laying crew. The job was finished by the dates stated. The crew was the most cooperative of all the tradespeople involved in the project. The end product is considered one of the top three soccer facilities in Canada.

CN Sportplex 16 sport field development project
Most municipalities think that building a sport field is a simple process of leveling out the ground and planting grass. This is a big misconception. Sport fields require the same amount of planning and design as any major building project. Turf Masters consistently searched out the best materials possible and submitted samples for testing. They prepared a sub-grade for the whole site to achieve proper drainage and traffic flow. A testament to the their work is the National Under 16 Soccer tournament held on the site. The final game was postponed one hour due to heavy rain.Within one hour of the rain stopping, the game started. The coaches were amazed at how well the turf and the field survived. This goes to show how well a good contractor can benefit a municipality.
